IMPACT Core
The mission of our core is to accelerate the dissemination and implementation (D&I), and hence the impact, of translational research. We define impact as the positive effects of research on the health and well-being of individuals, communities, and populations; and on healthcare delivery and the economy.
We believe that gaining familiarity with the theories, frameworks, and methods of D&I Science* allows researchers at any stage on the translational continuum to design their studies with an eye to impact.

D&I Science - the field of study that examines the process by which scientific evidence is distributed, adopted, implemented, and sustained in typical community or clinical settings.
Helpful Resources:
- Explore the University of Pittsburgh's Dissemination and Implementation Science Collaborative (DISC) and consider becoming a member. The objective of DISC is to connect interdisciplinary D&I scientists and trainees to develop D&I collaborative research, education, infrastructure, and capacity. Meetings are held throughout the year to share projects and opportunities, develop ideas, and learn about dissemination and implementation science from expert speakers.
